The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition and the bronze elements appear to be present and structurally sound. There is a fine layer of surface dust. There is a minor hairline accretion to the lower right corner and two pinpoint accretions to the upper left horizontal edge of the canvas. There are a few superficial hairline abrasions to the bronze elements. There appears to be minor oxidation in places to the bronze elements, presumably in keeping with the natural ageing process of the artist's chosen medium. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
