Lot Essay
Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak is a design icon and is best known for heralding the age of the luxury steel sports watch. However, here in a special and extremely collectible set of six timepieces, it is interpreted as a stunning set of six bejeweled watches housed in a special signed wooden presentation box. Each of these high jewellery timepieces sees the Royal Oak's characteristic octagonal bezel set with either 32 baguette emeralds, baguette sapphires, or baguette rubies. Three of the watches are further distinguished by lugs studded with 64 brilliant diamonds and dials paved with diamonds and precious stones. According the archivists at Audemars Piguet, this exotic set was first sold in London in 1994. All six timepieces are presented with an official Certificate of Warranty from renowned London retailer Almar that confirms the sale of the set on 31 May, 2016.
