The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The side edges of the canvas are covered by a metal strip frame. Minor wear, tension cracking and faint handling marks are scattered near the edges. Under close inspection, faint scuffs and small drip accretions are scattered. A vertical stretcher bar impression is visible under raking light. A pinpoint loss is to the lower right quadrant in a blue painted passage. Under ultraviolet light, tiny spots fluoresce, possibly the result of moisture. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light. This work has been professionally dusted and cleaned.
