Lot Essay

Launched in 2016, this rare platinum limited edition wristwatch features a Venice carnival scene. On a wonderfully executed champlevé enamel dial, two masked figure automatons, called “Jaquemarts” move in sync with the chiming of the activated minute repeater. When the minute repeater is activated, the two masked figures on the dial lift their masks as the repeater chimes the hours, quarters, and minutes.
